How YouTube Creators earn from Tagging Products on Flipkart Myntra in India?
New avenues for business are needed for the hour. No denying it. Be it offline or online, there is a constant need to transform the way business is being done. Traditional methods of doing business cannot be discarded altogether, but new methods are equally welcome since business is evolving pretty fast. It is important to know that YouTube has just launched it's shopping affiliate program in India. Creators can tag products from Flipkart and Myntra in their videos and get revenue from sales obtained through these affiliate links. You will be astonished to know that already 16,000 crores have been generated by the creator economy and have created 750,000 jobs. These are massive figures in the context of business secured by such affiliate programs.
YouTube has announced that it is partnering with e-commerce Sites Flipkart and Myntra
Creators can tag products in their videos, shorts, and even live streams, which enables the audience to not only easily discover but at the same time buy those products. If your YouTube channel has a minimum of 10,000 subscribers and you are part of YouTube's partner program, then you are eligible for it.
We must include the fact that India's influencer marketing industry is expected to experience a major leap, with over 80% of brands planning to spend up to 30% of their marketing budgets on influencer collaborations by 2028. So the times ahead are likely to be even more prosperous for people who will remain associated with influencer marketing.
YouTube has announced that it is partnering with e-commerce sites Flipkart and Myntra to allow content creators in India to tag products of brands other than their own in their videos for their viewers to purchase. Viewers can get the necessary information pertaining to the tagged products in the description section and the ‘Product’ section of the video. Clicking on a product will directly take the viewers to the product-listing page on Flipkart or Myntra, where they can purchase the desired products.
The whole idea revolves around the need to make it easier. If a creator is talking about a product, then they should be able to link it straight to the video. Now, if someone is keen enough to buy the same, then merely a few clicks must do the job instead of going for a web search and looking for the product out there. Another astonishing fact worth stating here is that over 65 per cent of users in India’s metro cities and 85 per cent of users in tier-2 cities trust YouTube creators more than traditional celebrities, the company said, citing the India e-Conomy report.
Apart from mobile and desktop, YouTube has made it clear that the viewers will have the option to make these product purchases on their smart televisions, too, via Connected TV.
Conclusion
The reach of YouTube is broadening all the time. People don't have the time to watch time-consuming programs. They need information and entertainment, i.e., Infotainment, in less time, as time is a constraint. Since YouTube has become a major player in the infotainment industry so its capacity to hold on to the audience is being tapped smartly for business activities, and the affiliate program is one such step in this direction.
