Who is the CEO of Google?
Indian-born Sundar Pichai ( Pichai Sundararajan) is currently heading Google in the capacity of its CEO. This California-based search engine giant took the call to appoint him for this post and was appointed as CEO of Google in August 2015. It's is a highly prestigious post to head Google and it comes with a lot of responsibilities as well.

On 12th July 1972, Sundar Pichai was born in the state of Tamil Nadu, which is situated in the Southern part of India. He was academically sharp. He graduated with a Bachelor of Technology in Metallurgical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, West Bengal also known as IIT, one of the most prestigious technical institute in India. He also went to Standford University to earn his M.S. degree and completed M.B.A from Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in the year 2002. He is highly qualified and has a sharp technical & business acumen which has surely helped Google to spread its wings further.

Initially, he was associated as an engineer with Applied Materials and later on he joined McKinsey & Company as a management consultant however, he soon took a call to leave this job and be part of Google in 2004. Perhaps it was a great career move on the part of Sundar Pichai as he could utilize the right platform to not only showcase his talent, but also gave himself access to an environment that could tap his potential in the best possible manner.

In Google, he was appointed as the Vice President of Product Management and guided two major projects associated with Google's Chrome browser and operating system. Apart from this he also worked on some other products of Google including toolbar, Desktop search, Firefox, and quite a few other products. He brought to the table a very advanced technical mindset and innovative ideas which proved to be a game-changer not only for him, but it impacted the business of Google in a very positive way.
It won't be unfair to attribute, Sundar Pichai as a major factor behind Google's success. Of course, one individual cannot be the sole reason for success in regards to an organization like Google however, his role was pivotal. In the year 2012, he was made the Senior Vice President of Google Apps & Google chrome. When Andy Rubin who happens to be the co-founder of Android, left Google it needed a person of solid merit, skills, and business acumen to fulfill this void. This is where Google decided to appoint Sundar Pichai as in-charge of Android mobile Software. He was later on in the year 2014, handed over the responsibility of Product Chief.

Google experienced a major overhaul with the formation of Alphabet Inc, a new parent company. After this development, Google became a subsidiary of the newly formed company and Sundar Pichai was named as its new CEO. It is said that his annual salary is 20 lakhs ( USD), (as per data of 2020).
Some of his colleagues say, that at times during meetings he tends to walk it out when he is in deep thought. He tends to wander away during the meeting & will invariably come back with a solution to the problem being discussed in the meeting. Perhaps this goes on to reflect the class & quality of this man to lead a business house and provide solutions more than asking questions.
