Jeffrey Preston Bezos happens to be the founder and the current CEO of the e-commerce website Amazon. It is believed that Jeffrey Preston Bezos is one of the richest men at present having a net worth of around $151 billion. Oops that a staggering amount. Isn't it!

Born on 12th January 1964 to Ted Jorgensen and Jacklyn Gise in New Mexico, USA, his parents separated just when he was three years old. After that, his mother got married to Miguel Mike Bezos. As far as his educational qualification is concerned, he holds two degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from Princeton University. This reflects the fact, that he is well qualified and perhaps this is another reason why he is capable of making smart business moves keeping in mind the current trend of business.
It is interesting to know that when Jeff Bezos was just 5 years old, Apollo 11 landed on the moon which was perhaps one of the biggest achievements for mankind in its entire history. This event motivated Jeff Bezos greatly and he decided to become an astronaut. He had a keen interest in sports like football & baseball and had a liking for reading as well. When he was in high school, he started Dream institute to encourage & promote creative thinking amongst young students.

He worked for New York Investment Bank D.E. Shaw & Co during the initial stage of his career. Out here, he was responsible for finding out and tracking investment opportunities on the internet. Seeing his effort and performance, it was decided to promote him as Senior Vice President. He was the youngest to have achieved this feat in this Organisation. Later on, he left and moved over to a place called Seattle to open his virtual bookstore. As we all can see there have been twists & turns in the career of this great person.
In 1995:, the Amazon website went up and sold its first book in the month of July that year. An office was subsequently established in Bellevue, Washington. There was a system in Amazon, every time a book was sold, a bell would ring in the Amazon office. In June 1998, this website started selling CD's and by the year 2006, the range of products were diversified to give impetus to business, and the same year Amazon web services got launched.

It must be highlighted out here, that this American entrepreneur also owns the Washington Post Newspaper. He purchased the same for $250 in 2013. Bezos also happens to be one of the first investors in Google and invested to the tune of $2,50,000 in 1998. He could sense that in the long run, Google will be one of the best business entities/search engines in the world. This is another instance that goes on to reveal the foresightedness and business acumen of this great entrepreneur.

He has made the right policies and executed his plans to perfaction and made it beneficial for achieving the business objective. His life story gives us a loud and clear message, that nothing succeeds like success however, success never comes on a platter.
