The Nano Banana and Google Lens have been integrated. In fact, in the United States the Android users have decided to opt into the AI Mode Search Lab, reported seeing Nano Banana in Google Lens and AI mode, as per a report by 9 to 5 Google. It is yet to be seen whether the integration has been made available for all users globally.
The model was later integrated into the Google Gemini app. The launch started a new viral trend of AI-generated images on social media, which pushed the Gemini AI chatbot app to the No. 1 spot on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store India charts. You can see this remarkable achievement stated in this paragraph. This is simply phenomenal.
AI Mode was first launched earlier this year. We must bring to your kind attention the fact that AI Mode happens to be Google's search functionality. The best part about it is that it responds to users' free-form, complex search queries having AI-generated responses. You all must know that now the AI Mode in Google Search has got a new ‘plus’ icon in the bottom-left corner of the prompt box. The Voice Input and Google Lens buttons have been shifted to the right. Clicking on the plus icon presents the users with various options, such as the Gallery (like before), Camera, and Create Images with a banana emoji.
By deciding to choose the last option, the prompt hint changes to “Describe your image.” After making edits to an uploaded image or generating a new one using Nano Banana, you can also download the AI-modified image and share it with others. You get a lot in terms of options, which is surely commendable. In fact, recently, Google has announced AI Mode support for 35 new languages as well as expanding it to 40 new countries and territories, which will enable it to touch new heights. During last year’s I/O event, Google demonstrated a new Lens capability called ‘Ask with Video’ that is powered and backed by multi-modal generative AI and gives users the facility to ask questions using video.
