1. IMC 2023: Spotlight was on 5G & Even Beyond
This was surely a mega event going by the number of participants. The event is said to have over 1 lakh participants from 22 countries, including around 5,000 CEO-level delegates, 230 exhibitors, 400 startups, and various stakeholders. These attendees are being provided a platform for networking, collaboration and knowledge sharing among the global telecom community. This platform was massive for people who have a keen interest in it. 2. PM Modi Highlighted India's 5G Achievements

PM Modi inaugurated the event and recalled that India surprised the world with its 5G rollout last year. He said that India did not stop after the success of 5G and worked on reaching it to every individual. He informed that India has developed 4 lakh 5G base stations that cover more than 97 percent of the cities and 80 percent of the population. He also said that India's median mobile broadband speed has increased three times within one year and that India has moved from the 118th position to the 43rd position in terms of broadband speed. He further added that India is not only expanding its 5G network but also becoming a leader in 6G technology.
PM Modi has been very categorical about digital transformation. His Government has been taking all the right steps to tap the potential of this connection. Therefore, the outcome is visible and very favorable.

5. Reliance Jio & its Satellite-Based Broadband
When we talk about high-speed internet services there is a general concern about certain harsh or inaccessible territories. It is believed that it is tough to provide internet facilities to users living in such places with hostile environments. Yes, there are some challenges, but Reliance Jio has demonstrated how things can be taken forward on this front.
Reliance Jio showcased the country's first satellite-based Gigabit broadband service that can provide high-speed internet in previously inaccessible geographies. At the event, Jio demonstrated how they are offering internet to four remote locations: Gir Gujarat, Korba Chattisgarh, Nabrangpur Odissa and Jorhat Assam. There is no word yet on when the service will be widely available to users.
The users of far-flung areas also need internet facilities. They must be provided the necessary services. If we fail to do so then it will not serve the purpose in its totality. Reliance Jio is taking certain measures in this direction. These are welcome measures.
6. Reliance Jio Displayed Jio Glass
This summit was also a great opportunity to showcase some latest devices. For instance, Reliance Jio also displayed the Jio Glass, a mixed-reality headset announced at the company's 43rd annual general meeting. This device is beneficial for education, gaming, virtual meetings and video conferencing.
7. Nokia demonstrates 6G Tech
Nokia used this summit to highlight its vision for the future of wireless communication, which involves using 6G technology to create a situational awareness that will be competent enough to sense and interact with the environment without compromising privacy. Nokia went on to showcase, how its 6G network can act as a radar, detecting objects, people and movements around corners and at a distance.
Nokia also showcased its smart and safe railway networks, which use a private wireless network to support advanced signaling and train control systems. Future visions were shared in this meeting. Innovations & competency backed by intentions can produce miracles. This summit was a great success in this direction.
8. Ericsson's RedCap Solution
Ericsson's also demonstrated its RAN. Ericsson introduced its new radio access network (RAN) software solution, RedCap, which aims to simplify and extend the battery life of 5G devices while delivering higher data rates and speeds. RedCap is designed & developed for devices such as smartwatches, wearables, industrial sensors and AR/VR devices. Such devices require low power consumption and high performance. So new measures and systems were demonstrated to the participants which goes on to reflect how companies are going hell for leather in this domain which has potential as well challenges both.
9. Aspire and Robo Blitz
India Mobile Congress 2023 also featured two new initiatives to foster entrepreneurship and skill development among young innovators and engineers. Aspire & Robo Blitz also generated a lot of interest. Aspire was a start-up program that highlighted the potential of emerging technologies in the telecom and digital domains. Robo Blitz was a robot-wars event that challenged participants to showcase their talents in robotics.
