People of the current era can't imagine a world without technology. It is right to say, we need technology and we reserve the right to use technology as much as we can. Nothing wrong with it though, but there is a need to limit the use of technological products, especially when they make us over-dependent. Technical dependence means short - term & long - term reliance on technical gadgets, equipment, and devices. Over-dependence on technology is harmful. It makes us inactive and addictive. We become a slave when we have to look towards technology for every small support. Judicious use is always prescribed, but depending too much on technology does not augur well for us. You need an alarm clock to get up, you need a mobile next to you every time or else you look restless, you feel uncomfortable when your A.C or heater malfunctions. There will be a lot of people who appear out of place in the absence of technical devices. They have a false sense of security and fake confidence when technical devices are around them.

Manual work requires physical labor which in turn helps us keep fit. Technical products rarely let us do physical activities. We get things done by using machines and technical stuff. Kids are more into video games. They no longer show the urge to play outdoor sports. Various mediums of entertainment keep us engaged with TV or OTT platforms. We no longer use our brain rather we look for readymade answers making our brain redundant. We need a calculator to perform small calculations. We find it difficult to remember, the phone numbers of our near & dear one's so what we do is, we save them in our phone book.  Too much dependence on technology is linked to anxiety, depression, and mental stress. We have to be wary of this fact.

Conclusion

Depending on technology to scale up or speed up our work or produce better productivity is a pragmatic approach. Using technology to our advantage is always a good deal. Using technical devices to save time, energy & resources makes sense. Yes, too much reliance on technology must be discouraged. It harms us and makes us handicapped in a way, as we tend to follow the diktat of machines, keeping aside our natural instinct and capabilities.

Going by the current scenario there is a tremendous need to draw a line and decide to what extent we must depend on technological gadgets or instruments. Use technology, but don't let it use you. We are all for it & support technological inventions to the hilt, but not at the expense of losing our personal freedom and privacy. Over-dependency on technology may cost us dearly. Mature people are few & far between. So be more realistic and use it as a tool to help you, but you must also be able to help yourself in the absence of technical tools.
